Weird Tenimyu cast banner/box things x 3 again. And the Other Random Things I have crafted in my spare time. And music.
It's only three again because... I turned 18 and did a lot of show-going as of late ( CSS/Ladytron [ Ben Gibbard was there. It was weird ] and My Brightest Diamond/Sufjan Stevens ).

Miyavi tutorial

Doing my first tutorial ever, because my friends ask me to teach them Photoshop.

Going from to for Adobe Photoshop CS ( should be translatable to most versions, but then again, I'm not sure. Please don't hate me ).

Alright, first start off with your base at 100 x 100 pixels, which for me is Miyavi's l0vely VISAGE:
Now duplicate your base ( layer > duplicate ) and set it to Soft Light at 100%.
I then flattened the image ( layer > flatten image ).

Time to add some color! Add a new fill layer ( to do this you go to layer > new fill layer ) and set the color to #020E29. Set that layer to Exclusion at 100%.
Another fill layer, this time at pink; #DD9AD4. Set this layer to Soft Light at 75%.
Flatten your image once again ( note: I like flattening )

Duplicate your new base layer ( the bottom one ) and then desaturate it ( desaturate means "turn to black and white", and you do this by going to image > adjustments > desaturate ) and set it to Linear Light at 60%.

More fill layers... New fill layer: #BAEDCA. Set to Color Burn at 100%
New fill layer: #F4EDD1. Set to Hard Light at 50%
Duplicate base layer and drag it to the top and set it to Overlay at 77%
FLATTEN IMAGE.

Select this entire layer and add a white outline to it. To do this, go to edit > stroke > and have the settings at 3 pixels on Center with the color as white ( duh ).
Copy this inversed mask by latexandleather and paste it on top then set it to Screen at 100%. Place it anywhere you desire... the upper-right hand corner tickled my fancy. Using rectangular marquee tool, select part of Miyavi’s face from top to bottom on your base layer. ( random note: the outline isn't in this shot, I kinda wrote this after I did stuff )

Then Edit > Copy > Paste
Using the Move Tool, drag the layer over to the left of the bottom layer so you can see both of the faces. Desaturate the layer with the slice of the face and then select that layer and add an outline with the same settings as the other ( 3 px, center, white ). If the outline doesn't go along the left side of the duplicated face, just use the marquee tool to make a very small rectangle on the left side and then add a new fill layer of white ( I ran into this problem after going through the tutorial again ).

FILL LAYERS AGAIN. These go above all of the previous work.
New fill layer: #020E29. Set to Exclusion at 100%
New fill layer: #F6D4D4. Set to Color Burn at 100%

Then flatten the image and you are done!

Then you can add text or sharpen it ( I did a little ) or whatnot.

The various color option effects for Photoshop beginners. This is all using the color #BDE8EE, which is a light blue.

After you have your base image, go to layer > new fill layer > and put in #BDE8EE as your color. The above are the different results for each individual effect. And by effect I mean your layer pallette on the lower right part of the screen, on the selected layer, there's a drop-down menu option and you can select a bunch of different effects. THOSE ARE THE RESULTS. Note: all of these effects are at an opacity of 100%. The opacity percentile is right next to the effect drop down menu. Mess with different colors with different effects at different opacities or DIE.

He just turned 25, on August 22nd! Anyway, he's a model that became an actor... and a good one at that! He played Oshitari Yuushi in the Tennis no Oujisama Musicals ( Tenimyu ). He also plays a role in a tv drama called Princess Princess D as the student body president, Arisada. Also in this series are some of his Tenimyu co-actors: Adachi Osamu and Kamakari Kenta. I think there are more. Crap. ANYWAY. And I heard about some tv show where he ( and yet another fellow Tenimyu actor, Kotani ) and some guy are lovers? NEAT. He has photobooks of himself and I think an Idol DVD. Not sure about that. Hm.

Otou! I've done some work, as of late.

My first ever attempt at making a texture. FAIL! In the end, I just got angry. Hahaha.

Second attempt. Same technique. I wanted different colors. I think the blues were giving me the blues.

Okay... this... this is an undergoing project with what_a_hit. It all started back at this post where she drew a 100 x 100 picture of Kimeru in MS Paint based on the image in my ( F-chan ) profile. She wanted to do others, so I made an image of a lot of the various Tenimyu actors for her to start on. When complete, this will probably be posted in tenimyu with the icons to show what images she was basing her pictures off of. But yeah. Other than that, this image has no purpose... ( maybe for my own convenience ) except maybe lookin' like dandy eye candy.

I'll be working on graphics this afternoon, and then packing then camping.

So... I got a better version of photoshop now. I'm doing a lot more larger scale graphics ( ie: banners ) and stuff so yeah. I did figure out ImageReady, but Livejournal is being inhumane. It says that the icons I make are larger that 100x100 pixels... which isn't true! The first time, I followed a tutorial and someone made practically the same icon as me and theirs uploaded. So I tried others... they're only around 56kb, so I don't see what the problem is! ONE OF THEM IS EVEN 98x98 PIXELS HOLY MOLY NU WEIIIII.

Okay done ranting now.
